our history

The formation of our Communist Party was not without its difficulties. Like today, there existed in Britain at that time a variety of ideological sects and socialist societies. However, with a small number of exceptions, these were brought together over the weekend of July 31-August 1 1920. We republished articles from the contemporary left press, charting the ups and downs of the unity process and the early years of the new Party.
