Welcome to the website of the RED Platform of the Communist Party of Great Britain.
We are a group of CPGB members and partisans fighting to win our party to a strategy which we believe will strengthen unity with other socialists, defend its democracy, and increase its size and political effectiveness.
Our platform grew out of a debate within the party over the correct tactics to adopt towards the populist Respect Unity Coalition. The letters in our name stand for Republicanism, Equality and Democracy: a somewhat shorter acronym than Respect's, but one which broadly encapsulates the principles their leadership have rejected. We call for:
1. No votes for Respect candidates who do not campaign on a platform including republicanism, open borders, and workers' representation on a worker's wage: no votes for members of the reactionary Musliam Association of Britain.
2. The CPGB to rejoin the Socialist Alliance Democracy Platform.
3. The defence of party democracy.
4. Renewed emphasis on the organic growth of the CPGB.
