Socialist forum in Herts
The inaugural meeting to discuss setting up a socialist forum in Hertfordshire decided to send a resolution to Arthur Scargill outlining our proposals for affiliated membership to the SLP. ML and CPGB comrades agreed that if we are refused membership via affiliation then we should seek to link ourselves with other socialist forums nationally, including Scotland.
Other decisions: Herts Socialist Forum is to meet every month with invited speakers from other working class organisations engaged in struggle. February’s meeting will discuss the ‘Parliamentary road to socialism’ - its history and lessons.
