Sincere flattery

Money is the sincerest form of flattery - at least under capitalism. That is why when the Weekly Worker is praised we are always pleased when there is some hard cash to go with it.

Comrade TP, one of 6,888 people who visited our website last week, writes: “Excellent report on the Stop the War Coalition conference. Keep up the good work.” He adds that a “substantial” cheque is in the post.

To tell you the truth, we can do with quite a few more of those. We need £500 a month to meet our regular running costs. This month we have received £320, so we are hoping for a flood of money this week to take us past our target. Particular thanks this week are due to GK (£30), along with IP and FS (£20 each).

With Bush and Blair on the verge of launching their assault on Iraq, we need to make sure we can play our full part in arming the anti-war movement with principled working class politics. For that we need some more sincere flattery.
