Struck a chord

With just two days to go in a very lean month, we are running into something of a cash-flow crisis. Our total for April is now £365 - an extra £85 was all we received last week. So that means we still need £135 by Sunday May 1.

Why not give added significance to the celebration of international workers’ day by seeking out a Weekly Worker seller on a May Day march? All donations will be gratefully received, including those handed over personally. And of course there is the net. Last week we received £20 from JC (who, judging by her email address, is a student at Sheffield University) and £10 from CR. Both took advantage of our PayPal facility to help us out.

Speaking of the net, it was another record week for the number of hits recorded at cpgb.org.uk: 17,746 last week - over a thousand up on the previous high, notched up just seven days earlier. Suddenly we seem to have struck a chord.

Not that it has helped our finances much. We rely on the generosity of our readers to keep us afloat, but generosity seems to be a commodity in short supply right now - although the £40 received in the post from PH was a welcome exception. Thank you, comrade. Thanks also to RF for his £15.
